UCSB Undergraduates Teach Tibetan
Art in Santa Barbara Public Schools

Winter-Spring, 2008

In spring quarter of 2008 UCSB undergrads made various presentations and led workshops in local Santa Barbara elementary schools (grades three through six). They visited five different schools in the Santa Barbara area: Brandon School, Isla Vista School, Kellogg School, Marymount School, and Mountain View Elementary.

Everyone involved – students and teachers alike – considered this a wonderful experience. Here is what some of the teachers had to say:

• " A HUGE THANK YOU!!! My students had a wonderful time and LOVED the lesson!!! "

• "Thank you so much; the class enjoyed learning about Tibetan culture and art. Your presenters were very nice and the students learned a lot from them."

• "Thank you, your students were wonderful my class loved the presentation. Thanks!"

• "I want to compliment your students on their presentation today! It was very informative and well presented. This is a great thing for the university to do. Everyone enjoyed it! I hope you consider us in the future."
